School Equipment Production Unit (SEPU) was established in 1976 under the Ministry of Education Science and Technology with the mandate to design, manufacture, supply, distribute the science materials and apparatus for educational institutions.

It also acts as an agent, consultant stockist of chemicals and drugs, publisher of educational materials for the purpose of promoting standards and quality of science education.

SEPU urgently requires self motivated individuals with exceptional commitment, creativity, enthusiasm and
energy to fill the following positions:

Assistant Sales Representatives

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out promotional activities for the Unit’s products and services in educational science related functions and workshops.
  • Devise appropriate sales & marketing strategies to achieve desired awareness and market share.
  • Identify and develop a client base to grow sales volumes against the targets.
  • Ensure quality customer service and satisfaction as a key component of the sales process.
  • Monitoring and report market activities in terms of pricing, packing, placing and promotions.
  • Identify potential business opportunities and report the same for necessary action.
  • Handle customer issues in line with the company’s customer care policy.
  • Liaising with the management team to ensure stocks are readily available to customers.
  • Achieve the set monthly financial targets.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum Higher Diploma in Sales & Marketing or Bachelors Degree in Business related field.
  • Must be a confident and fluent communicator with excellent presentation skills.
  • Understanding equipment and chemicals used in learning institutions at all levels.
  • Should be able to prepare and make high level presentations at different levels to various customers.
  • Excellent computer skills and must possess a valid driving licence.
  • Minimum 5 years sales & marketing experience.
  • Age between 25 years to 35 years.

Assistant Production Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of staff both in wood and metal workshops
  • Be able to implement innovations of products
  • Design and manufacture equipment according to customer specifications
  • Equipment modifications according to customer’s specifications
  • Knowledge of latest technologies available and ability to implement them in the factory
  • Cost optimization and completion of projects in an efficient manner
  • Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure that plant & equipment are effectively maintained to ensure maximum production efficiently.
  • Organize all production operations to ensure that output and quality targets are met.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • Holder of Higher Diploma preferably in Industrial Education or a degree in related field.
  • 5 years experience in a busy commercially oriented work environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Conversant with factory Laws of Kenya
  • Team Player
  • Reliable in handling confidential data and information
  • Integrity
  • Age between 25-35 years

Assistant Supply Chain Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring supplies met prequalification and comply with public procurement procedures
  • Managing the tendering and quotation process as well as contract management
  • Participating in developing and reviewing procurement policies and procedures
  • Leading training and managing supplies team towards delivering the required supplies
  • Coordinating procurement operations
  • Developing and preparations of tender documents.
  • Reviewing required material especially for packing
  • Managing the transaction approval process and requisitions.
  • Effective sourcing of goods and services both locally and internationally as per laid down procedures
  • Managing supplier/Customer relations;
  • Ensuring timely supply of goods and services.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidates should have the following qualifications:

  • Higher Diploma in purchasing and supply management from recognized Institutions or a degree in related field..
  • At least 5 years experience in similar position in a comparable organization and should have working knowledge and understanding of public procurement disposal procedure
  • Be result Driven with excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Higher degree of integrity
  • Ability and readiness to work long/odd hours
  • Result driven
  • Knowledge of SAP materials management modules will be an added advantage.
  • Age between 25-35 years

Assistant Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the accountant in achieving accurate and timely management accounts and performance contract reporting
  • Working with both production and procurement management team, for quarterly performance contract reporting.
  • Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring that it is up to date at all times.
  • Maintain fixed Assets Register.
  • Maintain Grant income and expenditure book.
  • Preparing of monthly Bank Reconciliation
  • Preparing and reconciliation of project account (records)
  • Reconciliation of payroll accounts
  • Accurate maintenance of all the Unit’s financial/Accounting papers and transactions.
  • Ensure all statutory requirements are met.
  • Verification of supporting documents and preparation of payments vouchers
  • Accurate maintenance of all SEPU financial/ accounting papers and transactions
  • Record all movements of cash into the record form

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum CPA II
  • Knowledge on accounting software preferably QuickBooks
  • 5 years experience and ability to work independently.
  • Age between 25-35 years

Driver

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must comply with rules governing parastatal Vehicle
  • Must ensure the vehicle is in good condition at all times

Qualifications and Experience:

The applicant must be holders of:-

  • KCE DIV IV or KCSE mean grate D+ and above.
  • At least 5 years continuous driving experience
  • Valid PSV certificate
  • Valid certificate of good conduct
  • Clean driving license with class B’C’E
  • Age between 25-35 years
