Makerere University seeks to fill the key positions of Principal and Deputy Principal of College of Health Sciences. The College is a premier institution in Africa for Training Health Professionals and carrying out Research in the Health Sciences.
POST: PRINCIPAL
The position of Principal is a senior post in the University created to give leadership to a Constituent College of Makerere University. A Principal is appointed to hold office for a term of four years that may be renewed once.
Eligibility
The persons eligible for appointment should possess the following minimum attributes:-i Be at least of the rank of Associate Professor or its equivalent at the time of application. ii. Ten (10) years managerial experience in Health Training or Research Institution, iii. Must be at least 40 years of age at the time of application, iv. Visionary and strategic thinker with track record of ability to mobilize and manage funds, v. Have a good track record of research and publications.
Job Description
The Principal shall be the Chief Administrator, Academic and Financial officer of the College and shall be responsible to Senate and the University Council for promoting and maintaining academic management excellence, efficiency and effectiveness; and for order in the College of Health Sciences.
