Consolidated Bank: Jobs and Vacancies in Kenya

Consolidated Bank wishes to attract highly motivated individuals for the following positions:

Assurance Officer

Reporting to the Assurance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing independent and objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the Bank’s operations and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assurance reviews of the assigned banking operations and functional activities.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the management controls over those operations.
  • Evaluate whether organizational units are performing their planning, accounting, custodial, risk management and control activities in compliance with applicable policies and procedures in a manner that is consistent with the Bank’s mission and regulatory frameworks.
  • Plan and execute assigned engagements in accordance with accepted auditing standards.
  • Report assignment findings and make practical recommendations for correction of unsatisfactory conditions and improvement of operations.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Holder of Bachelors degree in Finance and/or business related field. Professional qualifications such as CPA and CISA will be added advantage.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, research and analysis skills
  • Thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Must have a minimum of four years relevant working experience in audit in a banking/financial environment.

Debt Recovery Officer

Reporting to the Credit Administration Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for Bank’s debt recovery activities and ensure the timely collection of debts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet monthly cash collection targets for non-performing debts.
  • Identify non performing debts which can be pursued through negotiations, meet and negotiate with debtors
  • Prepare and review service level agreements with advocates, auctioneers, debt collectors and repossessors.
  • Give instructions to and liaise with auctioneers and where possible attend auctions to ensure auctions are properly conducted and Bank’s interests are protected
  • Follow up issuance of demand notices, statutory notices and repossession orders as the case may be when a branch account falls into arrears.
  • Follow up with branches to ensure collection of non-performing debts and achieve targets
  • Set up and maintain a database for debt recovery to ensure up to date records and information on all non performing accounts

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Holder of a Bachelors degree in business related field
  • Professional banking qualifications such as AKIB or/and Credit management training will be added advantage
  • Knowledge of debt recovery procedures including legal procedures related to debt collection.
  • Must be self-driven, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and negotiation skills.
  • Must have a minimum of two years relevant working experience

Trade Finance Relationship Officer

Reporting to the Trade Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the Bank’s trade finance and international business by delivering combined trade finance and transactional supply chain solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Achieve set sales performance targets in trade finance and international banking services
  • Formulate, resource, deliver and review sales strategies in trade finance and international business.
  • Develop customized international trade finance solutions to enhance profitability on international business.
  • Enhance internal and external trade finance profiles to promote business and generate new sales opportunities
  • Provide solutions that meet customers’ needs while adhering to the regulatory framework and the Bank‘s credit policy
  • Recommend and propose improvements in trade finance and international business products in order to remain competitive in the market.
  • Research and disseminate up-to-date market intelligence to different departments and branches.

Qualifications and competencies:

The candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies

  • Holder of Bachelors degree in a business related field.
  • Professional banking qualifications such as AKIB, ACIB will be added advantage
  • Have credit risk management skills
  • Must be self-driven, possess excellent communication and selling skills.
  • Must have a minimum of three years working experience in banking/financial services with solid knowledge of trade finance, import/export finance, commodity finance.

Relationship Officer, Corporate Banking

The successful candidate will be responsible for offering support to the Corporate banking Relationship team so to achieve set business targets.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out credit appraisal and risk analysis of proposals and make specific recommendations
  • Analyze business proposals and discuss with prospective clients for enhanced business for the Bank
  • Carry out credit administration duties and provide continuity in relationship management
  • Reviewing performance of customer facilities and making appropriate recommendations regarding nonperforming facilities
  • Checking of revenue payable by customers to ensure that proper charges are applied.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Holder of Bachelors degree in a business related field. Professional banking qualifications will be added advantage.
  • Solid analytical skills and experience in credit appraisal, handling and resolving customer requests and queries.
  • Have strong communication and team building skills with ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Creativity, initiative and be self driven with a strong commercial orientation.
  • Must have a minimum of four years banking experience.

Relationship Manager

The successful candidate will be based in Mombasa and will be responsible for effectively managing the assigned portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

  • Market and sell financing products to assigned clients and new clientele.
  • Build relationships by identifying clients’ needs, recommending and implementing appropriate solutions in line with procedures/policies to satisfy client needs and achieve business targets.
  • Maintain regular contact through call ups and visits in order to improve satisfaction levels and obtain relevant feedback for service enhancements.
  • Establish the customer potential and credit worthiness and secure approvals in line with the Bank’s credit policy and within acceptable turn around time.
  • Close monitoring of relationship for proactive identification of delinquency and to provide timely updates to the management for action.
  • Ensure maximum utilization of facilities provided to clients and originate new trade finance business from these clients.
  • Establish and build relationships with key decision makers within the corporate client organization.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Holder of Bachelors degree in a business related field. Professional banking qualifications will be added advantage.
  • Solid analytical skills and experience in credit appraisal, handling and resolving customer requests and queries.
  • Have strong communication, and team building skills with ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Creativity, initiative and be self driven with a strong commercial orientation.
  • Must have a minimum of seven years banking experience including correspondent banking and relationship management experience.

Security & Anti-Fraud Officer

Reporting to the Manager, Security & Anti-Fraud, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining effective security systems to safeguard the protection of staff, premises, data, information and customers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement security policies and procedures in accordance to the Bank’s security policy, standards, guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensure physical asset protection, access control systems and video surveillance
  • Manage information protection responsibilities such as network security, network access and monitoring policies and employee awareness and education.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external suppliers to ensure prompt and efficient services.
  • Participate in the training, investigations, detection and prevention of fraud
  • Ensure regular inspection and testing of the fire alarm system and fire fighting systems.
  • Implement evacuation and drill procedures.
  • Participate in the identification of high risk areas and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Holder of relevant Bachelors degree. Professional qualifications in ICT systems security and risk assessment or related field will be added advantage.
  • Thorough understanding of fraud management, disaster preparedness, first aid and security management.
  • Three years experience in both physical and systems security
  • Training in the disciplined forces.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
