MTN Uganda: TALENT MANAGER

MTN Uganda is the leading telecommunication company in Uganda providing payphone ,fixed lines,fax/data,Internet and mobile services .The company is seeking to recruit a suitable qualified person for the following positions;


Post: TALENT MANAGER
Ref: HR/01/10

The position reports to the Learning and Development Manager. The main purpose of the job is to manage the Leadership Talent Management Program, implement it and provide development support to MTN Uganda and align all initiatives to the MTN Group Human Resources and Leadership Talent Management Strategy.

Responsibilities:
To review, analyze, develop and recommend LTM strategies that will build a robust leadership talent pool and culture in MTN Uganda.
To manage the development of the LTM training and development models in content, implementation and assessment that drive the LTM initiatives.
To provide advice in developing and reviewing LTM processes and procedures within the organization according to best practice
To manage the MTN Uganda Succession Planning framework
To manage the Leadership Talent Management (succession) database system, inputs and reporting requirements.
To provide technical support for Leadership Talent Management reporting and compliance standards adherence according to the MTN Group.
To research and understand latest LeadershipTalent Management reporting and compliance standards adherence according to the MTN Group.
To provide various communication and implementation guidelines to enable the learning organisation strategy and culture across MTN Uganda.
To develop an LTM database and provide information input and alignment to the MTN Group LTM strategic direction.
To manage the roll out and entrenchment of a leadership branded approach in all leadership communications and learning and development solutions and opportunities.
To manage strategic learning design projects through various stages of analysis, content design and development, solution implementation inclusive of facilitation as required as well as delegate impact assessments.
To organise and coordinate special learning and development events in partnership with both local and international business schools as well as subject matter experts.
To coordinate and organize the attendance of Executive
Leadership to attend approved programmes.
To coordinate leadership and team assessments( 180-360's) and provide inputs for interpretation.
To create and define necessary competencies and skill requirements for technical, functional and professional critical and scarce talent pool.
To carry out/participate in surveys and benchmark the MTN Leadership brand and development programs for best practices and innovations.

Key competencies:
The applicant must possess a Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Social Science or general Humanities; however possession of a Post Graduate qualification in Human Resources, HRD or Behavioural Sciences is an added advantage.
Further still, he or she must have at least 3 years experience in HR preferably in Talent Management and Succession Planning in a multi- national organization, with a track record of managing scarce talent, introducing learning and leadership initiatives, project management experience relating specifically to automated talent management systems, professional, functional and technical graduate internship and learner ship program experience, experience in designing and developing leadership and talent training materials and programs/activities.
The applicant must also have had specialized training in Project Management, Leadership and Talent Management as well as Supervisory Management Training. He or she must have excellent communication and organizational skills, good negotiation skills, good analytical skills, good presentation skills, critical skill of spotting talent and managing interpersonal relationships, ability to carry out research and make an analysis of trends and surveys, and must be able to work under minimum supervision.
In addition the applicant must possess strong leadership qualities, high levels of integrity, as well as be self motivated, persuasive, with learning agility, exemplary ability to network and must be multi-culturally resourceful.
