FIDA Kenya: Jobs and Vacancies in Kenya

FIDA Kenya seeks to recruit suitable candidates to fill the following vacant positions:-

1) LEGAL COUNSEL (to be based in the Nairobi Office)
Duties:-

* Provide legal advice to FIDA Kenya clients.
* Provide legal representation to Fida Kenya Clients.
* Prepare pleadings, proofs of evidence and legal briefs.
* Prepare court strategies in consultation with the team leader.
* Make interventions and petitions on behalf of the public in gender related issues.
* Liaise with other NGO’s, Government departments and relevant bodies in gender related cases.

Minimum qualifications and attributes:
The ideal candidate should at least posses the following qualifications and attributes:-
* Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over three (3) years experience.
* Should have knowledge of program planning, designing, monitoring & evaluation.
* Must possess strong writing skills, proficiency in computers, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Should be able to work under pressure.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in gender & women’s rights issues.
* Results oriented, creative and innovative.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Must be a good team player, highly self motivated & self driven.
* Must be willing to travel extensively.

2) PROGRAM OFFICER (two positions) (to be based in the Nairobi Office)
Duties:

* Program planning, management and reporting.
* Gender related legislative and policy analysis.
* Research and preparation of position papers, policy briefs and other IEC materials.
* Workshop planning and facilitation.
* Maintaining FIDA Kenya networks related to the program.

Minimum qualifications and attributes:
The ideal candidate should at least posses the following qualifications and attributes:-
* A University degree (a Bachelor of Law Degree from a University recognized by the Council for Legal Education will be an added advantage.)
* At least three years experience in program management, policy advocacy and training or any other related field.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in women’s rights.
* Proficiency in computers, organizational and analytical skills.
* Proven excellent writing, documentation and editorial skills.
* Strong interpersonal communication skills and good presentation skills.
* Must be a good team player, highly self motivated and self driven.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities.

3) GRANTS OFFICER (to be based in the Nairobi Office)
Duties:

* Developing and periodically reviewing resource mobilization strategies.
* Managing the grants/ funds raising processes.
* Preparing, reviewing and submitting funding concepts and proposals as required, in consultation with staff and development partners.
* Tracking and monitoring grant concepts and proposals submitted.
* Undertaking a due diligence assessments of potential grantors including collating of grantors documentation.
* Providing technical support to programs and project officers in managing grants portfolio, analysis and information.
* Implementing fundraising/ grants raising procedures in compliance with the fundraising/grants strategy.
* Coordinating donor reporting, and ensuring that it’s carried out in a timely manner and in accordance with donor requirements.
* Building and maintaining mutually and beneficial relationships with key donors.
* Representing FIDA Kenya in external fundraising forums and partner activities.

Minimum qualifications and attributes:
The ideal candidate should posses the following qualifications and attributes:-
* Hold a Bachelors degree from a recognized University.
* Minimum of 2 years experience in fundraising or project management or in any related field.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in grant preparation and/or experience in successful proposal writing.
* Experience with developing proactive and systematic resource mobilization plans.
* Knowledge in social justice work.
* Creative thinker.
* Proficiency in information technology.
* Ability to work with minimum supervision, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities.
* Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent presentation with proven excellent writing skills, with strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
