Kisaka and Company: Head of Finance and Administration

Our Client, one of the leading Microfinance Deposit Taking Institutions (MDI) in Uganda, is looking for professionally confident, self-motivated, committed team players, to reinforce their capacity by filling vacant position of a Head of Finance and Administration.

Specific responsibilities include;
1) Provide leadership to the Finances Administration department.
2) Development of finance and administration strategies, which support the achievement of business objectives.
3) Preparation of accurate periodic regulatory reports in line with the MDI Act 2003 and MDI regulations.
4) Developing and managing systems of financial planning, financial management, budget and budgetary control in line with international accounting standards.
5) Preparing annual budget and projections and monitoring monthly performance against budget.
6) Preparation of annual procurement plan.
7) Coordination and implementation of the company's investment strategy.
8) Manage and enhance relationship with the company Lenders and Funders.
9) Ensuring that the company has adequate financial resources at all times in order run its business operations.
10) Preparation of periodic accounting and financial reports for use by management and the board, in order to keep them informed about the financial position of the company.
11) Controlling cash, stores and other assets of the company in line with set policies.
12) Preparation of financial accounts and liaison with the external auditors to ensure timely completion of annual audits.
13) Setting up cost standards, cost accounting systems and ensuring costing of all transactions, materials and products of the company.
14) Provision of financial advice to management on any financial undertakings and expenditures.
15) Ensuring effective execution of procurement and administration functions in line with set controls.

Minimum Academic Qualifications:
1) A Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or any other related academic discipline from a recognized university.
2) A Bachelors degree in Commence, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or any other related academic discipline from a recognized University.
3) A Professional accounting certification e.g. ACCA, CPA

Person Specification:
1) Eight (8) years relevant experience, four (4) of which must be at a managerial level.
2) Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
3) Good leadership skills.
4) Good business Acumen,
5) Good interpersonal skills.
6) Good communication skills.
7) Good negotiation skills.
8) Team player with a positive attitude.
