The Electoral Commission, which was established under Article 60 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and mandated to conduct public electrons and referenda, invites applications from suitably qualified persons with proven integrity and initiative, results oriented, able to work in teams under minimum supervision, and excellent client care to fill vacant positions within its establishment. These positions have come about as a result of the creation of new Districts and the need to strengthen our internal capacity to serve the public better.
Vacancy: Election Officer/Assistant District Registrar
Directorate; Operations
Reports to: District Registrar
Salary Scale:ECS 5
Duty Station: District electoral Commission Officer in any part of Uganda
Key responsibilities:
1. Assisting in drawing and implementing work plans for the District electoral Commission office.
2. Maintaining records for the District Electoral Commission equipment and re-usable materials.
3. Compiling periodic District Electoral Commission reports.
4. Minute Secretary to District meetings.
5. Any other official duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
2. Computer knowledge is an added advantage.
3. Being a registered voter is an added advantage.
Minimum skills and Competency:
1. Ability to command respect.
2. Excellent interpersonal and team work skills.
3. Capacity to work with senior personalities in different occupations.
4. Analytical and problem solving skills.
5. Ability to work under tight deadlines.
