AB Trust is an organization set up to with support of the government of Denmark and Uganda to promote the Development of agriculture through using the value chain approach. AB Trust is to operate as sustainable local entity offering financial services s in addition to supporting the selected agricultural value chain.

AB trust is interested in recruiting support staff for its operations.

Job Title: Finance and Administration Officer
Reports to: Finance and Administration Manager
Assists in supervising:
• Receptionist
• Drivers
• Office Assistant

Main Purpose of the Job
To support the finance and administrative function of AB Trust, and provide technical guidance and support to management and staff on financial and administrative issues

Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Financial
• Ensure that all expenditure vouchers are properly sanctioned and backed by supporting documents
• Update the Asset Register as necessary
• Ensure vigilant cash management such as cash withdrawals, deposits, cheques management etc
• Prepare, enter and initial journal entries before passing on to seniors for signatures
• Update all accounts and balance them with the Genera ledger
• Reconcile Bank statements and the Cash books regularly
• Assists In consolidating accounts and preparing financial reports on a monthly basis

2. Administrative
• Assist in developing, recommending and updating AB Trust administrative policies, procedures and systems
• Assist in the formulation of administrative strategies, plans and budgets
• Offer technical support and guidance on administrative issues to AB Trust management and staff
• Supports in planning for required administrative resources and equipment and ensure their availability and proper utilization
• Organize travel arrangements for AB Trust management and staff
• Facilitate implementation of Personnel administrative formalities and processing of documents in relation to official travels, leaves
• Ensure coordinated and cost-effective deployment of aBi Trust vehicles and other equipment
• Oversee the security, maintenance and repairs of all the equipment, motor vehicles and premises of AB Trust
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all AB Trust assets
• Arrange for the insurance of AB Trust assets according to the polices in place
• Ensure proper keeping of maintenance records for AB Trust premises, vehicles and other equipment
• Arrange with the Finance Section for the payment of utility bills
• Supervise and provide effective leadership to subordinate staff and maintain teamwork among them
• Any other responsibilities/functions deemed necessary by the supervisor/or senior manager in order to meet the level of the services in the organization.

Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in commerce, business administration, business studies or related area
• Minimum of 5 years work experience in administration and/or finance
•Planning and organizing, communication, interpersonal, conflict management and computer skills
• Working knowledge of a computerized accounting package especially Navision is added advantage
• High level of integrity/sound Judgment, self-drive and professionalism
