UGANDA INVESTMENT AUTHORITY : Investment Executive

Background
Uganda Investment Authority (UIA).set up under the Investment Code 1991.Is a statutory agency mandated to initiate and support measures that enhance investment in Uganda and to advise government on appropriate policies conducive for investment promotion and growth.
UIA has received support from UNIDO to initiate and implement a Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange CSPX) project in Uganda. The aim of SPX is to link domestic enterprises especially the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to the supply chains of large domestic or international companies. It will target to develop local SME capacities to meet buyer needs and to identify profitable business opportunities for them,

UIA now seeks to recruit a Profiling Executive as part of the SPX professional team to support and implement this project. The team will develop profiles of the skills and capacities of local companies to be promoted among big buyers, and also provide customized support to buyers looking for competitive local suppliers. The SPX services include: building a database of local enterprise capacity, developing a technical support team, collating requests for quotations (RFQs), providing a gateway to international benchmarking and information resources, and providing advisory services to local companies committed to improvement and upgrading.

Job Title: Investment Executive (1 post)
Reporting to: Director- SME Division
Purpose of the job:
To oversee the profiling of skills and capacities of local companies to be promoted among buyers and to build up a database of local enterprise capacity

Main duties and responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the SPX Profiling Executive would include the following:
• Profile identified companies to participate in the SPX programme;
• Identify and market the Programme to relevant suppliers and buyers in the country;
• Provide customized support to both suppliers and buyers participating in the programme;
• Meet with companies and gather relevant information from the profiling questionnaire;
• Maintain and update the database of all potential and participating companies;
• Input information onto UNIDO SPX Profiling application;
• Regularly update and verify quality of information in the system;
• Meet the targets and deliverable in terms of number and quality of suppliers to be entered into the profiling application;
• Maintain confidentiality of the suppliers.

Requirements:
1. At least 5 year technical experience in the manufacturing industry
2. Possess adequate knowledge in Engineering with good working understanding of the key engineering industrial terms and production processes
3. A University degree is an added advantage
4. Demonstrated marketing skills
5. Good networking skills working skills with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
6. Excellent interpersonal skills; dynamic and capable of working independently;
7. Excellent writing and presentational skills S. Excellent analytical skills
9. Demonstrated high level of integrity
10. Proficiency in computer operations especially with databases and web applications
11. Good communication skills with fluency in spoken and written English

Duration:
A two-year contract will be undertaken by the successful applicant subject to renewal based on performance.
