UGACOF: FINANCE MANAGER

Ugacof is a leading coffee processor and exporter in Kampala, Uganda, Kampala is also the trading, logistics and finance hub for the group's other coffee trading operations in East Africa including Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania.
The company is seeking a professional Finance Manager, possibly with experience in Trading and Processing of produce, to assist the Chief Financial Officer. The position is based in Kampala though it will involve up to 10% of his or her time traveling within East Africa.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum B.Com or equivalent. CA or equivalent professional qualification.
3 years relevant post qualification experience.
Working knowledge of computerized accounting packages, MS office and preferably a data base.
Financial management experience possibly in a trading environment.
Knowledge of internal control procedures and the ability to implement them.
High levels of numeracy, written and verbal communication skills and business acumen.
Working knowledge of French would be a distinct advantage.

THE POSITION:
This is a key finance position. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate, working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, his or her ability to:

Lead and manage small teams responsible for the finance function in Uganda and in other East African operations.
Prepare monthly financial management reports and annual financial statements within strictly defined deadlines.
Analyse performance and justify key financial ratios and variances.
Prepare financial plans, budgets and projections.
Manage working capital, accounts receivable, cash flows, foreign exchange and other financial exposures.
Knowledge of VAT, income and corporation tax. regulations
Monitor and approve periodic and annual returns.
Liaise with external and internal auditors, tax and other statutory authorities
