Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian aid organization that provides emergency medical assistance to populations in danger in more than 70 countries.

To respond to the current needs on the field,MSF is actively recruiting LOGISTICIANS.

In order to increase our current recruitment reserve list and therefore respond to the needs of the populations we are helping today and will be helping tomorrow, MSF is actively searching for Logisticians available for a departure on the field in 2010.

The logistician is primarily responsible for supporting the programs developed by MSF in the field. This work includes supply management (purchasing, receiving, shipping to the projects), MSF infrastructure management and safety, management of road, water and air transportation (fleet management), computer systems and telecommunications, power, refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation (cold chain, drug supply).

The logistics also have to develop programs oriented towards helping the recipients. This includes, for example, projects for rehabilitation and construction of health facilities, water supply and hygiene measures for basic sanitation necessary for the health of people who benefit from MSF programs, support for nutrition programs and food distribution to patients, the distribution of essential commodities and building of shelters (tents, family tents, clinics), the establishment of cold chain during immunization campaigns ( measles, meningitis, yellow fever, etc..).
Criteria:

  • 2 years of professional experience in fields related to logistics
  • In addition to a specific degree that is related to the various activities mentioned above, the logistician must demonstrate technical and organizational skills. A manager profile is a definite asset.
  • For some functions, technical qualifications and specific professional experience may be required. This may be the case for the following functions: procurement manager, fleet manager (engineer or mechanical engineer), head construction projects (Architect, Civil Engineer), responsible for water, sanitation and hygiene (expert or hydraulic engineer )
  • Job requires knowledge of a second language (in addition to French) among English, Spanish, Arabic or Portuguese.
  • Immediate availability is appreciated; one year minimum enrollment
