Systems Engineer – Technical Services

Key skills and Qualities

The person must be:

• A Technical and innovative thinker.
• A proactive and self-motivated professional who can diligently follow the rules and procedures.
• Capable of working under pressure to meet the customer demands.
• Willing to travel within Kenya outside Nairobi.

The Position:

Reporting to the Senior Business Manager Technical Services, the person will be responsible for:

• Installation and configuration of the IBM, SUN and Microsystems products.
• Carrying out preventive maintenance of the Sun Systems
• Installation, configuration, commission and maintenance of MS windows and UNIX servers.
• Diagnosis and rectification of the operating systems and hardware problems

Qualification and Experience:

The candidate should have the following attributes

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Computer Engineering.
• Be certified in one or more of the following:
• IBM eServer, xSeries, pSeries systems, OR
• SUN Microsystems servers and Solaris Operating System.
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge and experience in Solaris and AIX is an added advantage.
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Professional added advantage
