We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Core Network Planning and Support Department within the Technical Division.
In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:
Core Access Planning Engineer
Ref: TECHNICAL_CAPE_SEPTEMBER 2010
Reporting to the Senior Manager; Core Network Planning, the holder of the position will collect planning data, analyze traffic trends for nodes and regularly update the core access planning database.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform occupancy results analysis on daily, weekly and monthly basis;
- Advice on need for any upgrades of configuration changes based the observed trends;
- Follow the issuance of work orders and their implementation;
- Provide general trends on QoS profiles and perform house keeping of core access planning and design data;
- Provide project status reports and follow through on installation to integration process;
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering with bias towards telecommunications;
- At least 1 year experience in a telecommunications environment (planning or operations), preferably handling GSM CN activities;
- A working knowledge of 2G/3G RF Planning plus core network nodes required to ensure best planning methods are utilized when rolling out the RNC/BSC/TRAU nodes;
- Must be able to work without supervision and meet tight deadlines/schedules;
- Analytical , problem solving skills;
- Proactive & self motivated;
