Contract period: 3 months with a possibility of extension
Summary:
FH/Kenya (Food for the Hungry), a Christian relief and development agency , is urgently looking for a Field Coordinator to coordinate relief program involving food distribution in Marsabit. This is a middle management position responsible for leadership in the implementation of relief programming activities and requires working closely with WFP.
Essential duties and responsibilities includes the following
* Design and formulate, along with the Health & Nutrition Manager, the general framework and strategy of the Relief Program.
* Will also be responsible for tracking and record keeping of all commodity resources and provide timely and accurate reports internally and to WFP.
* Supervise and train commodity staffs in commodity management procedures, record keeping and regulation compliance and also ensuring that the warehouse meets WFP set standards.
* Ensure timely delivery of commodities to beneficiaries with minimal loss.
* Collaborate with appropriate authorities as well as field staff on development of an effective commodity tracking system and be responsible for the application of that system.
Qualification/ Knowledge:
* First Degree (Bachelors) in related discipline.
* Demonstrate strong knowledge of WFP working procedures and Logistic knowledge.
* Experience in NGO commodity management – minimum 3-5 years experience in coordination or management of commodities.
* Those with prior experience working with WFP will have an added advantage.
* Must be computer literate with excellent skills in Excel.
