Kenya Chamber of Mines: Chief Executive

The Kenya Chamber of Mines is looking for a Chief Executive to run its operations

The Chief Executive will be in charge of the management and running of the Chamber.

Duties include: administration and management, preparation and implementation of the strategic plan, business plan and budget, fund raising activities, representation of the Chamber to its members, and other stakeholders including senior Government officers, advocacy and lobbying.

Personal abilities:
  • Excellent verbal, written and power point presentation skills
  • Ability to synthesize, summarize, explain and convince
  • Leadership, ability to delegate, pro-activity, motivation, fast learner
  • Creativity and ability to make the best of use of limited resources
Competences:
  • Business administration and management, budgeting and financial reporting
  • Industrial economics (Mineral industry preferred)
  • Lobbying / marketing / convincing
  • Mining / exploration / geology competences preferred but not essential
  • ICT: demonstrated proficiency in Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Internet applications
Qualification:
  • University Degree in Business / Commerce / Marketing / Law or
  • University Degree in Geology / Mining
Experience:

5 years minimum in industry in general (exposure to mineral industry preferred)

The position is particularly suited for a young and dynamic university graduate with some working experience, and who wants to push his / her career forward in a high visibility position with a developing industry lobbying body in Kenya.
