Kenya Tourist Development Corporation: Jobs and Vacancies in Kenya

The KTDC is the leading Development Financial Institution (DFI) providing affordable and accessible financial facilities and advisory services to the tourism industry.

The KTDC mission is to develop and diversify Kenya’s tourism industry by providing a range of advisory and financial services to investors in tourism related enterprises.

The organization is seeking to fill the following positions:

Head of Finance

Ref: HOF/07

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Finance will be in charge of the Finance function at KTDC and will be responsible for overseeing accounting and financial reporting at the Corporation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement financial policies and strategies and provide guidance in the Corporation’s financial and capital plan.
  • Advice the Board on all financial matters and guide the Heads of Department in the preparation of budgets.
  • Design and implement systems and controls for monitoring and managing financial processes and procedures.
  • Manage the preparation of all accounting and financial data and ensure compliance to standards and statutory regulations.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as the Auditor General, the Treasury and other market players to ensure compliance to industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:

  • A Bachelors degree in Accounting or Commerce with an Accounting Option as well as an MBA.
  • A CPA (K) or an ACCA qualification is a requirement.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience at a senior level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good leadership skills and a team player with proven track record of integrity.
  • Knowledge/ understanding of computer packages and computerized accounting systems.

Head of Investments

Ref: HOI/ 08

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Investments will be in charge of the Investments function at KTDC and will be responsible for the identification and development of investment opportunities at the Corporation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement investment policies and strategies.
  • Ensure continuous research in order to identify new investment opportunities in the tourism industry.
  • Coordinate the formulation, review and implementation of the corporate business plans.
  • Monitor the operational and financial performance of the Corporation’s investments in all associated and subsidiary companies and ensure their prompt payment of dividends and submission of annual accounts.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and other market players in the industry on all matters of investment.
  • Prepare and compile all information necessary to facilitate the privatization process and recommend ways of achieving this goal.

Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:

  • A Bachelors degree in Finance, or Business with a bias in Finance.
  • An MBA and/or a CPA (K) / ACCA will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge in Financial Analysis, Investment Management and/or Capital Markets.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years experience at senior level in the field of marketing, finance investments or tourism investments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Good leadership skills and a team player with proven track record of integrity.
  • Knowledge/understanding of computer packages.

Head of Human Resource & Administration

Ref: HRA/09

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of HR S Administration will be in charge of the Human Resources and Administration functions at KTDC.

Key responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement relevant Human Resources strategies and policies.
  • Develop procedures and systems to guide the human resources and administration functions.
  • Establish schedules including designing training programmes and conducting skills gap-analysis and job evaluations.
  • Oversee the Corporation’s performance management system, conduct performance audits and formulate ways and methods of improving productivity.
  • Prepare, manage and control the budget for the HR and Administration function.
  • Ensure provision of efficient administration services to all functions of the Corporation.

Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:

  • A Bachelors degree in Social Sciences or Business Administration with a bias in Human Resource Management.
  • An MBA and/or a postgraduate diploma in Human Resources will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience at a senior level.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Good communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge/understanding of computer packages.
