World Vision Kenya: National Design, Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator

We wish to urgently recruit a highly competent, proactive and self-driven person to fill the following position within our organization.

National Design, Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator

To be based in Nairobi

Purpose of the position: To effectively develop, lead and promote an enhanced culture of learning and discipline in the skills and practices of DME throughout World Vision Kenya.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide proactive and clear sectoral leadership across World Vision Kenya (WVK) for development and full coordination of all DM&E events, practices and learning;
  • Develop, implement and promote a new organization-wide strategy for DM&E for quality ministry;
  • Design, coordinate and implement staff training programs to build knowledge, attitudes, skills and behaviours around the DM&E standards, key LEAP components and other emerging trends in the field of DME;
  • Ensure that DM&E related activities regarding measurements, design, redesign, monitoring, evaluations and other interventions are successfully implemented;
  • Support WVK initiatives for fundraising through new proposals and designs plus ensuring alignment and compliance to LEAP standards and other donor requirements;
  • Contextualize the LEAP guidelines and standards for Design, Monitoring and Evaluation in all programming environments in WVK;
  • Ensure adherence to and integration of WVK DM&E standards and practices with Programmes and projects and special donor expectations;
  • Participate effectively with DM&E networks, practitioners and learning/research institutions to access, research, evaluate and promote the best available external practices and resources in DM&E;
  • Work with Branches to implement a DM&E learning system to document, assess, share/disseminate and replicate Lessons Learned, Promising Practices, and Best Practices in DM&E;
  • Support Sector Coordinators in incorporating best DM&E tools and practices into sectoral projects and activities
  • Collaborate with the Resource Centres to procure and supply the best DM&E learning resources;
  • Ensure the appropriate use of information management systems for all Sectors within WVK in order to enhance and inform design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized University, with practice of community development, program design, statistics and evaluation. An advanced degree is preferred;
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of extensive field level experience managing people and programs in an international NGO’s context; with proven experience in planning/designing, implementation, supervising, monitoring, Evaluation and reporting in integrated development settings;
  • Thorough understanding and experience in Research methodologies;
  • Proven track record as a staff and community trainer and capacity builder in DM&E;
  • Solid public relations skills and be a strong team player;
  • Strong commitment to WV Values, Mission and Vision.
