Profiles International Uganda Ltd is a Human Resource Assessment Company that is supporting a number of Corporate Organizations in Uganda through provision of Human Resource (HR) solutions. Our client Uganda Cooperative Alliance (UCA) is an umbrella organization of all types of cooperatives in Uganda.
One of its mandates is to develop and build the capacity of its member cooperative organizations and be a member of those organizations. In pursuance of this, UCA wishes to hire the services of a competent person to work as a Corporate Affairs Officer based at the UCA head office
Specific duties:
Take leadership in the design and implementation of lobbying and advocacy plans/ strategies
for UCA.
Assist the UCA management in the identification of relevant issues and analysis of policies affecting the members of the cooperative movement and their organizations with special emphasis on the agricultural sector.
Assist in building skills in lobbying and advocacy at various levels of the cooperative movement including apex and secondary.
Represent the General Secretary in relevant forums such as Parliament, relevant Ministries
and any other governmental and non-governmental agencies.
Work as a member of the team including that of the Technical Assistant.
Work closely with other collaborating organizations in the area of lobbying and advocacy.
Communicate through relevant channels including the print and electronic media.
Any other duties that may be assigned by the general secretary to promote lobbying and advocacy of the UCA and the entire cooperative movement.
Qualifications:
A Masters Degree in Economics or Agricultural Economics. Other post-graduate qualifications in
Mass Communication or Public Relations will be an added advantage.
Other skills:
Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
Computer skills especially Ms Word, Excel, and Power Point
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar job.
Age: 30-40 years
Duty station: Kampala
Terms of employment:
Two years renewable contract depending on one's performance.
