Nkumba University is a private chartered University (Legal Notice No.3 of 2007). Justify FullIts mission is to provide an environment that enables the cultivation of competence, creativity and character in the academic, professional and social interactions. In this pursuit Nkumba University is strengthening its management and administrative systems to enhance both policy initiation and implementation through recruitment of highly qualified and committed individuals. Job Title: Deputy Vice Chancellor
Reports to: Vice Chancellor
a) General Duties:
i) Responsible to the Vice Chancellor.
ii) To assist the Vice Chancellor in the performance of his/ her functions and in that regard be responsible for the academic and administrative affairs of the University in accordance with the University Charter.
iii) In the absence of the Vice Chancellor, perform the functions of the Vice Chancellor.
iv) To perform such other functions that may be delegated to him or her by the Vice Chancellor or assigned by the University Council.

b) Key Responsibilities;
i) Ensure proper planning, coordination, development and management of curricular for all the undergraduate and post graduate programmes at the University.
iii) Oversee the establishment of effective institutional structures and mechanisms for monitoring quality assurance in the University's academic
iv) Spearhead the development of research and publications and maintenance of institutional linkages.

c) Qualifications;
Applicants should fulfill the following;
i) PhD in any field from a recognised Institution.
ii) Be at professorial level at a recognised institution.
iii) Aged between 45 and 60 years of age.

d) Desirable Qualities:
Applicants should have;
i) Recognition in international circles, especially academic ones,
ii) Demonstrable ability to mobilise and manage both human and financial resources,
iii) Ability to inspire confidence and loyalty, iv) Visionary and strategic thinking abilities, v) Ability to be receptive to change and a good listener vi) Integrity together with sensitivity to quality and equity, vii) Computer literacy skills

e) Experience;
Applicants should have a track record of at least 5years involving the following: i) Teaching, research and publication ii) Management and administration iii) Managerial experience in large projects.
f) Remuneration: Attractive and negotiable
g) Tenure of Appointment:
A four year contract and renewable upon satisfactory performance,
