National Medical Stores is an autonomous Corporation that was established by the Statute of Parliament in 1993. Our mandate is to procure, store and distribute medicines and medical supplies to the public health facilities and to a lesser extent to the private health

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Role: Sales and Marketing Officer
Position: NMS 4U (Contract - 4 year renewable)
Location: Entebbe
Reporting to: Head of Sales and Marketing

Role/ Purpose of the job:
Responsible for implementation of internal sales activities of the corporation to ensure timely availability and delivery of medicines and; health supplies to NMS customers

Role Description/Key Result Areas:

Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
1. Responsible for daily sales order management, including order sequencing, scheduling plus monitoring and controlling the entire sales operation process.
2. Conduct regular spot checks to evaluate the efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness of the order process
3. Manage specific/special Customer orders to ensure their o fully and cost-effectively served within agreed timeframes:
4. Liaise with the customer Care Officer to carry out timely investigation and closure of customer related issues. 5. Develop, review and update departmental operational documentation in accordance with the Corporation guidelines.
6. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly statistical reports as appropriate.
7. Manage and grow the Sales Team
8. Support the Head "of Sales and Marketing in ensuring that relevant standards within the Customer Charter are met.
9. Meet the objectives and performance measures agreed with the Head of Sales and marketing.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Key Competencies:
Education:
i. Must have an Honors degree in Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing], or an Honors degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing), or any other Honors degree with CIM professional qualification.
ii. A relevant medical qualification is an added advantage
iii. Must demonstrate computer literacy.
Mandatory Experience and Technical Skills:
i. Must have a minimum of three years relevant work experience in a
Sales function. ii. Must have an in-depth understanding and experience of the operations of a Sales Team. iii. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written which will enable the job-holder to deal with external and internal parties in a professional manner, developing solutions and communicating these across the organization as efficiently as possible iv. Must Possess well developed analytical skills which will enable the job-holder to
• Clearly identify and define customer expectations.
• Undertake any required reviews to a high professional standard.

General Requirements:
i. Must possess self-management skills and the motivation to be able to:
• Efficiently organize own time
• Assess priorities within their own area of responsibility
• Handle routine work with limited supervision: ii must demonstrate a high customer service orientation
• Must be able to approach all matters in a non biased and professional manner. .
•Must be a versatile self-starter who demonstrates:

• A positive attitude towards their work
• Willingness to work as part of a team
• An ability to build and maintain good networks internally and externally
• Keep up to date with academic literature around their key areas of work
• An ability to maintain a broad focus on, and interest in current affairs that relate to NMS.
Must be able to work well under tight deadlines, sometimes heavy workloads
•Must have a high degree of individual responsibility.
