Africa Motors and Machinery (AFM) is a division of Mantrac Uganda Ltd and the Authorized dealer for General Motors East Africa. It deals in industrial and construction equipment as well as products by Perkins and Allight. Looking for experienced people to fill the various positions stated below.
Service Engineer - Industrial and Construction
Job Purpose:
The service engineer under construction and industrial product line will report to the technical supervisor. They are responsible for service and repair of industrial and construction machinery/ equipment brought to the workshop and will time to time be requested to do field visits to clients to offer repair and maintenance
Tasks:
• Ensure adequate response to the customers' requests as well as need for repair and maintenance of all industrial and construction equipment.
• Plan and co-ordinate field / workshop service j operations on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure there is adequate and appropriate tooling and workforce for effective on the spot repairs for the; equipment. Requirements should be compiled for considerations and procurement.
• Establish technical and skills improvement training needs for field / workshop service technicians and organize their implementation as appropriate.
• Ensure proper assessment, evaluation and costing; of all field / workshop service jobs
• Ensure that established safety specifications and job performance standards are adhered to.
• Monitor and keep in control of all work in progress to ensure that requirements for the jobs are adequately attended to, while all jobs are promptly dosed as at when completed.
• Prepare monthly reports to enumerate all activities within the field / workshop service operations.
• Implement approved repair actions that may arise from Warranty, and similar programs.
• Map out strategies to ensure that high quality standards are met in all services rendered to customers.
• Visit customers regularly to maintain good business relationship and respond adequately to their needs.
Qualifications/ experience and competencies:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 2 years relevant experience.
• Must be computer literate
• Valid driving license
• Good writing and reporting skills
• Excellent analytical skills
•Delivery of results and meeting customers’ expectations
