AB Trust is an agribusiness development entity set up by a number of development partners led by the Government of Denmark and the Government of Uganda. AB Trust promotes agribusiness through interventions in selected agricultural value chains, and through support to banks and other Financial Institutions (FIs) to broaden financial products and deepening access to finance in the rural areas,
AB Trust is looking for consultants within a number of areas to assist the staff and the advisors of the Trust in various areas, as specified below.
Trust Operations and M and E
• Development of an M and E system for AB Trust
• Development of an MIS system for AB Trust (website, filing etc)
Value Chain Services:
• Value chain analysis of selected value chains
• Collection of market information and dissemination (radio, SMS, newsletters etc.)
• Agro-input sector analysis
• Capacity building and training of Farmer Organizations (FOs) in safe handling of inputs
• Training of input dealers in product handling and code of conduct
• Training and capacity building of BDS providers
• Development of value chain productivity improvement manuals
Financial Services Development:
• Capacity building of borrowers within the agricultural value chains to become bankable
• Product development of financial products, including savings, credit, branchless banking, and insurance. The assignment will involve market surveying and cooperation with FIs on product integration.
• Training and capacity building of officers in FIs in agribusiness finance, asset and liability management, and price risk management.
Gender for Growth
• Development of gender sensitivity manual
• Gender analysis of selected value chains
• Development of gender responsive M and E systems
• Development of gender responsive communication and dissemination strategy
• Study of gender related constraints in relation to access to credit and financial services
