Ministry of Water and Irrigation (Mombasa): Civil Engineer & Security Officer

The Ministry of Water and Irrigation (NWCPC) Mombasa is one of the Water Service Providers (WSP) mandated to provide cost effective and affordable quality water and sewerage services to the residents of Mombasa Municipality, within the jurisdiction of Coast Water Services Board.

With a view to enhance our service delivery, we seek to recruit goal-oriented, self-motivated and qualified persons to fill the following management positions:-

1. Civil Engineer (Water)

MWSC/JG4

One Position

Reporting: To the Head of Technical Services

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Result Areas/Principle Accountabilities and Duties

• Prepare design of works.
• Prepare contract documents and project reports.
• Supervise project design implementation.
• Participate in environmental audits.
• Monitor and guide on industrial effluent discharge.
• Provide leadership of department’s operational, administrative and asset management to maximize efficiency.

Requirements for Appointment

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (Water) from a recognized university
• Registered Engineer
• Minimum five (5) years experience in Water and Wastewater operations.
• Excellent knowledge in computer-aided design applications
• Knowledge in Environmental Audit will be an added advantage

2. Security Officer

One Position

Reporting: To the Administration Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

• Will head the security section
• Will be responsible for providing efficient security management for the company
• Monitor and evaluate the security status of the company
• Carry out investigations and advise the company on the best security intervention measures
• Advise the company on security matters and
• Liaise closely with other Government security organs in all security matters affecting the Company.

Requirements for Appointment

• Must have attained O level education with a minimum of grade C or Div III
• Must have served to the rank of an Inspector of Police or an equivalent rank in the National Youth Service, Prisons Police, Administration Police or Armed Forces for at least a period of three years
• First Aid Certificate
• Certificate of Good Conduct
• Good Computer Skills
• Should have served as a Security Supervisor for three years
