World Vision Kenya is a leading non-governmental Christian humanitarian, relief, development and advocacy organization with projects in most parts of Kenya.
We wish to urgently recruit a highly competent, proactive and self-driven person to fill the following position within our organization.
Senior Internal Auditor - To be based in Nairobi
Purpose of the position: To assist the Audit manager in review and audit of projects and programs to ensure the promotion of good stewardship of resources consistent with the purposes for which the funds are given.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, accuracy of financial records, and efficiency of organizational operations using professional audit standards and practices.
* Prepare reports of audit results and recommendations to management.
* Conduct reviews of the organization’s records to ensure compliance with Government statutory requirements
* Conduct special reviews/investigations as required.
* Supervise and review the work of the Internal Auditors as assigned by the Audit Manager.
* Ensure that the audit programs and work practices within departments are in compliance with International Audit Standards.
* Assist in International audit assignments as required by the Audit Manager and/or the Regional Audit Manager.
* Maintain Continuous Education (“CPE’) as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting or Business. A post graduate degree in Accounting or Management will give an added advantage.
* Should have full accounting qualifications — CPA, ACCA or other internationally recognized accounting qualifications
* A minimum of four (4) years prior auditing experience in a recognized organization.
* Should have good communication and quantitative skills.
* Must be able to travel extensively within the country and internationally up to 50% of the time.
* Must be computer literate in using Microsoft Office programs. Experience in computerized accounting systems will give an added advantage.
* Must be able to work independently in remote areas
* Must have solid public relations skills and be a strong team player;
* Strong commitment to WV Values, Mission and Vision.
