Habitat for Humanity: Construction Supervisor

We are an Ecumenical Christian NGO running programs and projects that seek to eliminate poverty housing in several areas in Uganda. We are inviting applications from potential candidates to fill the following position available Construction Supervisor based up-country.

Post: Construction Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Construction Supervisor will oversee all aspects of Construction at the Habitat for Humanity Uganda's project sites, including supervising contractors to build the Habitat homes, developing construction budgets, overseeing inventory and calculating the Bill of Quantity (BOQ). The Construction Supervisor will be supervised by the National Director.

Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure quality construction throughout the program.
2. Prepares certificates for the local construction firms at all stages
3. Management of screw of skilled and unskilled workers at the construction sites
4. Ensure that selected beneficiaries have put enough material on their sites.
5. Provide monthly and quarterly construction updates
6. Develop construction specifications and management i.e. prepares BOQ for the selected house designs.
7. Ensure that building materials used in the construction houses are of the organization's recommended quality
8. Frequent visits to the construction sites
9. Perform any other duties as assigned b the Project manager and ND

Knowledge:
• Minimum a Diploma in either Civil Engineering with a bias to housing, Brick laying with a certificate in carpentry and joinery or a Diploma in Architecture.
• At least three year experience in construction management with a reputable organization, preferably an NGO/ reputable Architecture firm
