Emergency Plus Medical Services: Assistant Accountant

Emergency Plus Medical Services is a private company, limited by guarantee, fully owned by the Kenya Red Cross to offer emergency medical services which include 24hr ambulance service, first aid training and the sale of first aid kits.

The Company is looking to recruit a qualified self driven individual of high integrity to fill the mentioned position.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
  • Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary.
  • Respond to supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
  • Contacting suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other challenges.
  • Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications
  • Carry out stock takes and generating reports for the same.
  • Process payments for suppliers and ensuring all suppliers are paid on time
  • Ensure all stocks (ambulance and first aid) are well managed
  • Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers
  • Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
  • Perform related work as required
Qualifications/ Requirements
  • B. Com or any accounting degree from a recognised University
  • CPA II or equivalent
  • Supply and Procurement knowledge/understanding is an added advantage
  • High level of integrity and honesty is a must
