Our Client, is an agricultural company recently created to develop plantations in Uganda. The company has vast experience and a global presence. First year revenues of the company are expected to be in the range of USD15 million with this increasing as the fields develop to over USD 50 million in 5 years. It is seeking to recruit core staff for the Kampala Head Office. The positions are described below:
Post: Head-Finance
Reporting to the General Manager, the role is responsible for the overall accounts of the Company, compliance with legal requirements; long term strategic budgeting, and management of procurement process
Required Qualifications:
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, public accounting or management accounting
• Relevant experience in corporate finance, financial management and control, risk management, cost control, project financing and financial reporting functions
• Partly qualified accountant up to the equivalent of level 2 ACCA.
Specific Knowledge and Skills
• Knowledge of the region and understanding of laws regarding business operations
• Excellent budgeting skills
• Ability to evaluate financial systems and efficiently formulate and install accounting methods, procedures, forms and records
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other corporate and department heads
• Ability to formulate long-range fiscal planning, thorough knowledge of general laws and administrative policies governing investments and establishing and maintaining relationships with external assets managers and financial institutions
• High degree of facility with the English language
