Action Aid International Uganda seeks to recruit one (1) competent person to fill the position of Communications Coordinator. The vacancy exists at ActionAid International Uganda- Kampala Office.
Role Definition:
To coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of the organizations communication and public relations plan in line with the organization's strategic direction and programmes objectives.
Key Result Areas:
1. Develop the Communications Strategy, and monitor its implementation in line with local and international priorities.
2. Publicize organizational events and publications Coordinating visits by supporters, potential donors, national and international media to project sites and ensuring that they are availed information in the most suitable way to profile the organization.
4. Liaising and working with national and international staff to profile the organizational work and campaigns through communications interventions.
5. Coordinate media campaigns and guide in the development of campaign and other communication materials for policy advocacy and organizational profiling.
6. Maintain and manage the organization website in line with AA1 on line policy and strategy.
7. Maintain and manage the organizational Resource Centre.

* Media management
* Events management
* Public relations
* Documentation and reporting
* Materials development and Publishing
* Budgeting
* Web site designing and management
Person Specifications:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in either Information science, Journalism/Mass Communication or Communication Science or Marketing from a recognized university with at least 2-3 years relevant experience from a reputable organization A relevant postgraduate qualification would be an added advantage
