Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC): Assistant Human Resources Manager

The Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) is established as a State Corporation under the State Corporation Act Cap 446 to discharge the following mandates:
  • Promote and Market Conference Tourism locally and internationally;
  • Monitor the quality and standard of conference facilities and advice both private and public investors on improvement of such facilities;
  • Plan and implement the expansion and modernization of existing conference facilities and develop new ones; and
  • carry out any other mandate relevant to its principal mandate.
KICC is in the process of recruiting suitable persons and invites applications for the posts indicated below:

Assistant Human Resources Manager (1)

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage staff induction and coordinate on-the-job training for new staff.
  • Formulation of training needs assessment and annual training plans and reviewing the effectiveness.
  • Identify and manage external training and accreditation bodies, agencies and providers necessary to deliver required training to appropriate standards.
  • Maintaining accurate training records and periodically disseminating this to departmental and divisional heads in an effort at improving overall skills and qualifications base in the Corporation
  • Assist to coordinate the Recruitment, Selection & Induction and Termination processes
  • Ensure that all employees are enrolled with the appropriate Medical Insurance, Group Accident Insurance and Pension Scheme. Manage relationship with Insurance Company.
  • Liaising with the Records Officer to ensure the Resource Centre incorporates appropriate information resources to support training needs identified by staff
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) requirements and fully optimize available support from the DIT
  • Manage staff records; ensure that all employees have a physical staff file that contains all the required accurate and electronic staff file.
  • Assist in running of HIV & Drug and substance programmes
  • Ensure compliance to tax laws and other statutory deductions.
  • Managing staff welfare activities
  • any other lawful duties assigned by management from time to time
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the ideal candidate will:
  • Possess Bachelors degree in Social Sciences and Diploma in Human Resources Management or
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management
  • Working knowledge of National Social Security Fund Act, National Hospital Insurance F Act & Retirement Benefits Authority Act
  • Counseling skills
  • Knowledge in Human resource management information system
  • Excellent negotiations skills
  • Business planning and budgeting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and Communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Knowledge of Government regulations
  • 3 years working experience
  • Interpersonal skills and a Team player
