To ultimate objective is to enhance agricultural livelihoods in the area through greater utilization of improved production practices and improved access to markets through collective marketing activities. The field activities will be supported by the Organisation’s Kampala office under the guidance of WFP

Marketing Manager
Job Summary Coordinating all technical assistance, and farmer training activities with respect to marketing information, market linkage, business management and other marketing support activities. This includes provision of management / logistical support, training, supervision, and technical assistance to the Extension Service Providers, DFA, Management Committees and stakeholders based on the assessed needs. Areas of primary responsibilities Provision of management / logistical support, training, supervision, and technical assistance to the staff and stakeholders contracted to carry out marketing activities. Duties and Tasks Project implementation support (primary Role)
Manage and coordinate all farmer group trainings activities in farming as business, Marketing, Savings Mobilization, and Business Management with approved work plan and budgets. Every group must be visited at least three times during the season.

Manage the quality of the farmer training and progress against targets. Ensure development of detailed work plans and targets for farmer business training activities and monitor progress against those targets
Provide technical assistance to trainers and ensure timely availability of training materials.
Develop training materials, store management, record keeping and financial management procedures.
Manage the marketing support activities according to approved budgets. Monitor the expenditures by staff and financial management by stakeholders associations, collect their accountabilities, ensure necessary cash flow for essential activities, and collect their request for the coming month to ensure that they stick to budgets. Seek approval for any reallocation of resources.
Enforce proper documentation by field staff and ensure quality and timeliness of data collection and monthly reporting. Monthly reports and work plans/ requests for the coming month are due no later than 25th day of each month. Monthly salaries will not be paid until all reports and accountabilities are submitted.
Ensure primary data collection and record keeping by the management committees, summarize and analyze information for inclusion in reports.
Train Treasurers on financial management.
Closely monitor group business transactions and monitor the progress against targets.
Over see the bulking and marketing by the sub county level marketing association. Each sub county association must be visited at least once a week to monitor progress and participate in coordination activities.
Prepare periodic update reports for WFP coordination meetings and monthly/quarterly reports on marketing and business performance. (to be submitted to the programme Coordinator). Attend meetings & present progress updates as necessary.
Train ESPs and link farmers on savings mobilization and credit management.
Identify the credit needs of the sub county associations and assist with forging credit linkages. Liaise with the PC to work out capital needs in a a cost effective manner.
Oversee the management of the crop finance revolving fund and ensure its proper utilization and repayment.
Advise the PC on the technical quality of the business management and marketing training materials and radio programmes. Assisting with translations.
Train the DFA on management of the Market Information Centre. Oversee equipping and setup of the centre.
Oversee collection and dissemination of market information.
Attends coordination meetings if delegated by PC

Skills and Experience:
3 to 5 years Experience
A degree in marketing or any related field
Three years experience in agricultural marketing
