Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (Uganda): Community Mobilization Office H and S

Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund [ASB - Workers' Samaritan Federation] is an international non-profit, non-denominational NGO, working in the development and relief sector. Ever since the founding of ASB in 1888, humanitarian and democratic principles have been at the foundation of its work, both abroad and at home. ASB activities in Uganda started in 2005 with branch offices in Kampala, Lira, Pader, Katakwi and Amuria. Activities range from Food Security and Agriculture Livelihood projects, in Oyam,Apach, Katakwi and Pader Districts; Child Protection in Lango, Teso and Karamoja sub-regions;protect ion and Camp Management/Camp Phase Out (CCCM/CPO) in Pader and Teso regions.

To support our activities in Uganda, ASB is looking to recruit committed Ugandan nationals for the following positions:

Community Mobilization Office H and S
Station: Acholi

The Mobilisation Officer is responsible for the planning, coordination and supervision of the field activities
• Supervise needs assessments, baseline studies and surveys to facilitate understanding of hygiene status within the community before intervention
• Help (NPM] identify key hygiene practices to be addressed and carry out appropriate activities to promote safe practices in the community.
•Ensure that the work clan and activities completed 'has a realistic value for money before forwarding to the manager for consideration
• Coordinate with the project manager to ensure efficient and effective support to hygiene promoters and proper utilization of the project resources.

Essential requirements:
• Must have a proven experience of community mobilization in related programs
• Fluency in English ad local language [preferably Luo]
• Not less than 3 year experience in social work with an NGO
