Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund [ASB - Workers' Samaritan Federation] is an international non-profit, non-denominational NGO, working in the development and relief sector. Ever since the founding of ASB in 1888, humanitarian and democratic principles have been at the foundation of its work, both abroad and at home. ASB activities in Uganda started in 2005 with branch offices in Kampala, Lira, Pader, Katakwi and Amuria. Activities range from Food Security and Agriculture Livelihood projects, in Oyam,Apach, Katakwi and Pader Districts; Child Protection in Lango, Teso and Karamoja sub-regions;protect ion and Camp Management/Camp Phase Out (CCCM/CPO) in Pader and Teso regions.
To support our activities in Uganda, ASB is looking to recruit committed Ugandan nationals for the following positions:
Cash for Work Officer
The Cash-for-Work Mobilization Officer is responsible for planning, arranging, tracking and reporting all payments of CfW participants in coordination with the Finance Department and the rest of the CfW team. He/she is also responsible for mobilizing community members to actively participate in CfW activities.
• Maintain up-dated beneficiary lists by project type and location
• Verify beneficiary attendance registers
• With the National Project Manager, Roads Engineer, Assistant Logistician and Finance Officer develop and ensure all payment mechanisms are secure, reliable and transparent
• Ensure correct authorization for all payments is obtained prior to payments being made
Essential requirements:
• Prior experience in Cash-for Work, Voucher-for-Work or Food-for-Work will be an added advantage
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Local language (preferably Ateso]
• At least 2 years experience in social work with an NGO.
