Makerere University: Principal & Deputy Principal (Re-advertisement)

Makerere University seeks to fill the position of Principal of College of Health Sciences. The College is a premier institution in Africa Training Health professionals and carrying out research in Health Services.

1. Principal

The position of Principal is a Senior post in the University created to give leadership to a Constituent College of Makerere University. A Principal is appointed to hold office for a term of four years that may be renewed once.

Eligibility:

The persons eligible for appointment should posses the following minimum attributes:

• Be at least of the rank of Associate Professor or its equivalent at the time of application.
• Proven managerial experience in Health Training or Research Institution.
• Must be at least above 40 years of age at the time of application.
• Visionary and Strategic thinker with track record of ability to mobilize and manage funds.
• Have a good track record of research and publications.

Job Description:

The Principal shall be the Chief Administrator, Academic and Finance Officer of the College and shall be responsible to Senate and the University Council for promoting and maintaining academic management excellence, efficiency and effectiveness; and for order in the College of Health Sciences.

2. Deputy Principal

The position is a Senior Post in the University and the Deputy Principal shall hold office for a term of four years that may be renewed once.

Eligibility:

The person eligible for appointment should posses the following attributes:

• Be at least of the rank of Senior Lecturer or its equivalent at the time of application.
• Proven managerial experience in Health Training of Research Institution.
• Must be above 40 years of age at the time of application.
• Visionary and strategic thinker with track record of ability to mobilize and manage funds.
• Have a good track record of research and publications.

Job Description:

The Deputy Principal deputises for the Principal College of Health Sciences and performs such other duties as may be assigned by the principal in conformity with the laid down procedures of Makerere University.
