Plan Uganda: GRANTS AND COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST

GRANTS AND COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST
(REF: GC)

This position will report to the Resource Mobilisation Manager and will be based at the Country Office in Kampala. The successful candidate will contribute to the successful management of Plan Uganda's Grants Portfolio by offering timely and appropriate support to respective grants projects. This role will be responsible for among others ensuring donor compliance, writing of Grant Agreement Documents (GAD) and management of the approval process, the general management of the generic aspects of grants Project Design, Planning, Implementation and M and E, review of all grants Financial and Narrative reports, GAD Maintenance, Networking, building relations and GAD Closure Processes

Major Responsibilities /Key result areas:
• Develop grant agreement documents (GAD) and effectively manage the approval process
• Participate in grants project design and coordinate their implementation, monitoring and evaluation including those implemented by partners while ensuring compliance to donor requirements
• Prepare and submit financial and narrative reports that are aligned to the Grants Tracking System (GTS) following agreed reporting schedules
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date information against respective grants in the grants tracking system in line with Plan guidelines for Management of Corporate Systems
• Initiate, Nurture and develop cordial relations and networks with all Plan International National Organizations (NOs) and the wider stakeholder fraternity including building relationships between children, sponsors and the communities
• Manage grant project closure process by ensuring proper asset redeployment, actual closure of projects in the system, including ensuring timely communication of the same to all relevant departments and partners

Required Competencies:
• University degree in Economics / Social Sciences, Development Studies or other related disciplines
• Post-graduate qualifications in project cycle management and;
• Financial management for non finance managers
• Five (5) years experience in both programs and overall grants management including management of substantial grant funding from renown and major international donors like USAID, CIDA, NORAD, AusAID among others. • Demonstrated record of success in resource mobilization • Knowledge of good Principles and practices of grants administration • Knowledge of Computer software applications. • Demonstrated record of success in resource mobilization

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Capacity to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationship
• Well developed team building skills,
• Analytical skills
