Africare: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Africare in collaboration with World Food Program is implementing Purchase for Progress project in the Districts of Amuria,Kaberarmaido and Soroti in Teso Sub Region. The main focus of the project is to facilitate marketing of agricultural produce through promotion and supporting collective marketing. To ensure effective implementation and quality in service delivery, Africare requires a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer who is driven by performance and meeting targets. The position will require designing, implementing and supporting farmer organizations in business planning and collective marketing and as well as managing the entire marketing system. He will be required to travel extensively within the program area and will be reporting to the Project Coordinator.

Their main responsibilities will be as follows: Guide the process of monthly and quarterly work plan development; Facilitate development and tracking of indicators for marketing and related activities; Support the utilization of the corporate M and E system that addresses information requirements for both WFP and evaluation in WFP/Africare supported communities; Provide leadership in action-research, reflection, learning and documentation; Prepare both periodic and monitoring reports to guide the development of the project and provide recommendations for management,

Required Competencies:
Well developed team building, interpersonal, and analytical skills; Experience in data management systems especially database management; Excellent oral and written communication with ability to use MS Access, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Experience and skills in monitoring and implementation of marketing support Projects; Excellent skills in report writing and project evaluation; Experience in working with NGOs would be an added advantage; Good communication and interpersonal skills; Demonstrated capacity to work with partners at various levels; A University degree in Statistics, Economics, or other related discipline; At least 3 years working experience in a relevant field.
