Action Against Hunger (ACF): LOGISTICIAN ADMINISTRATOR

Action Against Hunger (ACF)-USA is part of the ACF-International Network which works to save lives by combating hunger and diseases that threaten the lives of vulnerable communities, through nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health and advocacy.

ACF-USA is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the following position;

LOGISTICIAN ADMINISTRATOR – GARBATULLA
Reporting to the Field Coordinator, the Logistician Administrator will be in charge of the management of all the logistics & administrative aspects of Garbatulla Base in Garbatulla District. The incumbent will be responsible for the operational support of program activities. This is an all inclusive position that ensures the overall implementation and adherence to financial, logistics and HR/Administration policies and procedures on the base. The position involves a high level of co-ordination with the ACF team in Garbatulla, other bases, Nairobi headquarters and with ACF beneficiaries

Responsibilities will include the management of human resources of the base; management of the finances of the base; management of logistics of the base including supply chain management, equipment, inventory and fleet management, Guesthouse accommodation, rehabilitation and maintenance; the management of the Base security in collaboration with the Field Coordinator; representation to local authorities and partners as well as leading the support teams a the base.

Qualifications and Skills required
•At least a BSc Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce or related studies.
•At least 2 years experience in Logistics and Administration at a management level.
•Excellent analytical and writing skills.
•Good resource management and representation skills.
•Experience in African humanitarian context with field experience
•Familiarity with ACF and acceptance of ACF’s principles
•Knowledge of SAGA
•Excellent interpersonal skills and high sense of diplomacy needed.
•Stress management skills.
Kiswahili and or Borana language helpful
•To be well organized and rigorous
•Team spirit and good communication skills
•Good general knowledge in IT, mechanic, radio & satellite communications

This is a national staff position, is contractual on a one-year renewable basis.
