Nyanza Reproductive Health Society: Director

The Nyanza Reproductive Health Society (NRHS Kenya) is a non-profit organization with its headquarters in Kisumu, Kenya dedicated to improving reproductive health of men and women.

NRHS has several projects researching on HIV prevention; it runs support groups for PLWHA and MARPS, and is working with the Ministry of Health to scale up male circumcision for HIV prevention in various parts of Nairobi, Nyanza, Western and Rift Valley Provinces.

NRHS seeks highly qualified candidates for the position of Director.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of the Society's projects and overseeing the operations of NRHS, including finance, administration, logistics, procurement and human resources.

He/she will also serve as Principal Investigator on a large CDC/PEPFAR Cooperative Agreement and will assist the Board and collaborators to pursue new initiatives as opportunities arise.

Responsibilities:
* Overall responsibility for effective management of projects to meet objectives and timelines in accordance with NRHS and donor principles, policies and procedures.
* Ensure monitoring systems are maintained and that project reviews and evaluations are carried out as planned.
* Represent NRHS to donors, provincial and national health authorities, NGOs, networks and other parties as necessary.
* Prepare accurate, timely and innovative project proposals.
* Ensure NRHS administrative, financial and logistical systems/procedures are adhered to, reports are comprehensive and on time, and that NRHS complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
* Overall management and appraisal of project staff in collaboration with the Human Resources Officer.
* Ultimately responsible for staff recruitment, selection, support and dismissal.

Desired Experience, Skills and Training:
* A Masters in Public Health or related field or equivalent.
* At least five years experience managing health-related projects.
* Familiarity with the Kenyan health system and governmental structures
* Excellent computer skills, report writing and budgeting experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills
* Proven ability to lead and motivate staff
* Experience in managing projects funded by U.S. government donors will be an added advantage
* Experience with research and in writing research grant proposals will be an added advantage
