Customer Service Manager

Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Customer Service, the successful candidate will be responsible for effectively managing the customer service function and supporting the corporate objective of achieving high levels of customer value and retention.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

* Ensure best in class customer experience and support, as well as provide product and services expertise to maximize customer value.
* Be the bridge that drives communication between business development and operations towards the common goal of high levels of service to the customer.
* Establish, prioritize and manage the efficient flow of information necessary to ensure on time delivery of customer inquiries and maintain a high degree of collaboration and teamwork
* Improves customer service quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; establishing and communicating service metrics; monitoring and analyzing results; implementing changes.
* Work closely with other departments to understand business requirements and collaborate on solutions that will result in continuous process improvements to simplify and streamline customer service functions
* Ensure that customer requests are investigated, followed-up, and that they receive the correct response within the prescribed service level.
* Manage and guide the operations of the customer service and call centre teams in order to efficiently respond to queries and complaints within satisfaction and delivery targets

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

* Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. Professional customer service, marketing and/or sales qualification such as CIM, MSK
* Five years experience in sales, customer service or marketing role in the banking industry or other service oriented organisation.
* Must be organised, analytical and take the concept of client confidentiality very seriously
* Must have strong attention to detail and ability to make sound business decisions in a timely fashion
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally

Catholic Relief Services: Jobs and Vacancies

Catholic Relief Services – USCCB is the official agency of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops for relief and development overseas. CRS supports programs in over 100 countries and works through local partners.

We are seeking suitable persons to fill the following positions in response to the drought crisis in
the country.

All candidates require technical competencies in the respective areas, experience in emergency programming, willingness to travel and live in field locations and a commitment to work with and support partners of CRS many of whom are Catholic institutions.

1) Deputy Finance Manager

Ref. 2011/27

Purpose: The Deputy Finance Manager will be primarily responsible for financial operations and grants accounting and management of CRS/Kenya Dadaab finance office, ensuring compliance with CRS accounting, procurement, reporting requirements as well as donor requirements.

S/he supports the Dadaab Management Quality Coordinator and Country Program Finance Manager in the financial management functions in Dadaab.

Summary of Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

* Supervise cash management processes and ensure funds are reconciled and replenished in a timely manner, take a lead role in preparation and review of budgets and grants monitoring and ensure that financial reports are prepared accurately and in a timely manner.
* S/he will also be responsible for sub-office payroll management, ensuring compliance with tax regulations as well provide technical assistance to CRS partners.

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

* Bachelor’s degree in a respective field such as Accounting, Finance, Financial Management; significant work experience in a directly related field will be considered in lieu of a degree
* Minimum CPA Accounting level II or equivalent qualification.
* At least five years experience in accounting for international agencies.
* Strong computer skills, particularly Excel, Word and Access.
* Experience with accounting systems required; Sun Systems experience preferred.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Demonstrated strengths in financial management with a strong client service focus; able to work with diverse groups of people and team oriented environment.
* Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
* Able to express technical ideas and concerns in a non-technical environment
* Maturity and discretion, able to work with, and maintain confidential information
* Knowledge in USG regulations an added advantage

2) Senior Administration Officer

Ref: 2011/28

Purpose: The Administration Officer will provide overall administrative and related support services for the Daadab office and guest house as well as oversee procurement, travel and vehicle management, for the CRS Dadaab operation.

Summary of Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

The Officer will directly be responsible for management of administrative functions within the Dadaab operation, ensuring proper and efficient office functioning, staff accommodation and meals management, overseeing management of property, supplies, equipment, and petty cash.

S/he is also responsible for management of all CRS facilities, utilities as well as ensuring the mail movement to and from Dadaab is efficient and effective.

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

* Diploma in Business Administration or relevant filed
* Minimum three years professional experience in office management and administration procedures, prior experience with international, bilateral or multilateral organization preferred
* Excellent interpersonal skills, must be able to interact in a mature, professional and friendly manner with local and international colleagues of differing religious and cultural backgrounds
* Should be an effectual communicator verbally as well as through writing skills.
* Medium proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
* Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets.
* A professional with high personal integrity, commitment and good steward of agency resources
* Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds

3) Human Resources Officer

Ref. 2011/29

Purpose: The Human Resources (HR) Officer assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties in Dadaab.

Summary of the Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The HR Officer carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, overall administration support and employment.

The HR Officer liaises closely with the National Kenya HR Department, department leads and staff within the Dadaab sub-office providing a customer focused and effective HR support service to achieve the organization goals and objectives.

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

* Diploma in Human Resources; degree preferred
* Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Knowledge of various employment laws and practices
* Experience in administration of benefits and other HR programs
* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
* Skills in database management and record keeping

This program is collaboration between Kenya Medical Research Institute and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention whose remit is to conduct research in malaria, HIV and other diseases.

To effectively carry out its mandate, the Program has a vacancy for Accountant in the Division of Global HIV AIDS Program (DGHA) –GAP Admin Branch.

Essential Requirements:

* Must have a Degree in commerce/Business management from a recognized University and/or a holder of CPA II or ACCA qualification
* Have a minimum of two years of experience in a busy organization.

Desirable Qualities, Skills and abilities:

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Review all financial transactions, (Travels, Cash requests, Purchase Orders) and internal recoveries in accordance with work plans and budgets and applicable policies and regulations.
* Participate in internal audits as scheduled and provide auditors with accounting documents as requested and provide explanations on audit queries.
* Work very closely with the Administration wing of the KEMRI/CDC Collaboration to ensure speedy processing of requests.
* Ensure that regular management information is generated on time, including comparison of results with agreed forecasts and cash flow reports
* Assist the DGHA branch chief and Snr. Admin officer on day today management of the branch.
* Perform any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by management.

Terms of Employment:

One year renewable contract as per KEMRI scheme of service.

Probation period for the first 3 months.

Salary negotiable within the appropriate grade depending on Education, experience and demonstrated competency.

Reporting to the Director Logistics, the Head of Facilities is responsible for the management and maintenance of all KCB Group facilities and properties; including head office and branch infrastructure as well as managing new construction project contracts.

The Person:

* A Bachelors Degree from a recognized University in a relevant field.
* Possession of a relevant professional qualification e.g. Architectural, Engineering, Quantity Surveyor.
* An MBA will be an added advantage
* A minimum of 5 years professional experience within Property/Facilities and Building Construction management, including management of a comprehensive facilities/ buildings maintenance program.
* Demonstrated experience and track record in Project Management
* Proven record of working with third parties in service delivery and role execution.
* Demonstrated Leadership and People Management skills
* Excellent presentation and Communication skills

GOAL: Finance Partnerships Officer

Job Title: Finance Partnerships Officer – Nairobi

Department: Finance Department

Reports To: Financial Controller

General Description of the Role

Management of partners’ finances (reporting to the Financial Controller):

The post holder will monitor and improve on the financial systems currently in place to ensure the following:

* Effective monitoring and evaluation of the financial management of funds by partner organizations and ensure that grants are properly used and accounted for as per agreed project proposals;
* Provide technical support to the preparation, review and approval of budgets for projects to be implemented by partner organizations;
* Strengthen the capacity of partner organizations to effectively manage, control and report on finances so that over time they are capable of managing greater levels of financial resources;
* Work with GOAL’s M&E Officer, Partnership Officer, finance department, and program management to ensure the efficient operation of the grants;
* Conduct financial assessments and reassessments of partners to identify partner capacities and where capacity gaps exist;
* Provide training to the finance function in each of the partner organizations to address capacity gaps identified.

Key Responsibilities:

* Responsible for partnership budget development and partnership financial reports to donors and others.
* Responsible for the monthly review of partner financial reports
* Undertake monthly technical support visits to each of the partner organizations
* Co-coordinate the release of partner funding cheques in line with specified controls
* Financial training of partners – workshops / individual
* Maintain an issues log on each of the partners, ensuring that issues identified in visits are tracked to completion.
* Ensure compliance with the GOAL Kenya Partner Financial Manual, GOAL Financial Manual, and Partnership Strategy, donor guidelines and any other relevant policies and guidelines.
* Assistance with cash-flow analysis – keep Financial Controller aware of cash needs
* Responsible for liaising with and providing information to GOAL auditors in relation to any partner issues
* Maintain and improve partners’ financial information systems
* Liaise with M&E officer/programme managers to ensure that expenses stated in financial reports are in line with programme activities carried out in a given period
* Liaise with M&E officer /programme managers in project proposal development to ensure donor compliance issues are highlighted.
* Provide Financial Controller with monthly report on activities, issues and problems
* Any other duties as required.

Requirements :

* Professional qualifications in Accounting (CPA or ACCA) and/or a degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience, preferably in an NGO setting.
* Experience in performing audits, reviewing controls, and report writing
* Experience in partnerships, support and capacity building of local NGOs and CBOs
* Experience managing grants from multiple doneors and sub-grants to a diverse range or partners.
* Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Accounting packages essential
* Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team.
* Good planning, organising, problem solving, analytical and mentorship skills.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills

The Role

As Regional Accountant your role will entail supporting the finance managers in the region in all aspects of financial management including budget preparation, monitoring and reporting.

You will also contribute to capacity building of finance staff in the region in financial management and interpretation of financial information for management decision-making.

The Person

You will require knowledge and experience of institutional donor funding requirements particularly DFID, EU, ECHO and UN to be able to advise programme staff accordingly.

In addition you must have strong analytical and numeracy skills as well as be able to demonstrate experience of working with computerised accounting packages and spreadsheets with ability to transfer these skills to other users.

You will be a CPA (K) or equivalent and have an undergraduate degree in a related field.

You will have intensive working experience, preferably in an NGO.

You will have highly developed interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to issues. This role also requires excellent communication skills. A working knowledge of French will be an added advantage. The role will involve travelling within the region for extended periods.

Cost Analyst

Reporting to the Director Technical/IT, the job holder will prepare, monitor, report and manage Technical and IT budgets & costs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare, analyse and report the Annual detailed budget for the division including reviews of the numbers at the different company-wide planning cycles;
* Define and update the cost drivers and prepare the long range plans for the division;
* Prepare a database for all the technical projects with all the milestones;
* Keep track of all the network elements for financial reporting and ensure inclusion of all the network elements into cell base;
* Management of all budget transfers for the division with documented justifications;

Minimum requirements:

* 2-3 years accounting experience in an international or well run company in corporate reporting for financial and management information;
* Experience in handling budgets and forecasts;
* Demonstrate analytical skills and ability to monitor and explain trends and variances;

* Highly computer literate with experience of a computerized accounting system preferably with Oracle applications;
* Ability to analyze processes and systems for enhancement of efficiencies and performance;

Remedial Manager
Key Responsibility:
Reporting to the Head of Credit, the Remedial Manager will ensure adequate management and controls over all overdrawn accounts and non-performing loans (NPLs), realising collateral in a timely manner and implementing prompt legal action in order to maximise recovery of the debt and ensure that all unrecoverable debt is written off once the recovery process has been exhausted.

This includes facility restructuring where possible.
Main tasks:
* To ensure that the correct level of provision is raised in line with regulatory requirements and the bank's internal procedures and that all set targets for the reduction / recovery of debt are met.
* To ensure all Bank and statutory returns related to NPLs are accurately and timely produced.
* To ensure that all the necessary systems and controls are in place to properly manage the NPL book and maximise the recovery of debt.
* To control and monitor the outsourced recovery process.
* To recommend the correct level of provision in line with regulatory requirements and the bank's internal procedures. Resolve all customer queries that arise on accounts that have been placed under the remedial actions.
* To recommend write off of unrecoverable debt once all the recovery avenues and processes have been exhausted.
* To ensure compliance with Central Bank regulations.
* To ensure that all monthly and quarterly CRB, credit risk and non-performing loan returns/reports are properly prepared, signed off and submitted within set deadlines.
* To peruse Internal Audit reports and ensure that any shortcomings highlighted with regard to NPLs have been sufficiently addressed.
* To prepare Credit proposals for restructured facilities and/or repayment proposals.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:
* A Degree preferably in Finance or Business from a recognized university
* Experience in remedial management is compulsory
* Possess credit analysis skills
* Legal knowledge in recovery will be an added advantage
* Previous corporate banking relationship management is also an added advantage
* Good interpersonal and negotiation skills are necessary due to nature of the job
* Have worked in a busy credit control/recoveries department for at least 3 years

Credit Manager
Key Responsibility:
Reporting to Head of Credit, the successful candidate will be responsible for credit risk evaluation of proposals from the various market segments and sectors.

He/she will be in-charge of a team of Credit Analysts to ensure thorough analysis and evaluation of proposals emanating from business.

One will also be expected to sit for the Head of department in his/her absence and work closely with Management Credit Committee.

Main tasks:
* To carry out comprehensive credit risk analysis and appraisals of loan proposals
* To ensure compliance with CBK requirements relating to bank lending
* To ensure achievement of acceptable recovery rate for all disbursed facilities
* To prepare and submit CBK returns within set timelines
* To respond to customer queries promptly
* To supervise a team of credit analysts within the credit function
* To deputize the Head of Credit
* To work closely with the Management Credit Committee (MCC) in approving of facilities recommended by business

Qualifications, skills and experience required:
* A Degree preferably in Finance or Business from a recognized university
* Full qualification in accounting / finance
* At least 3 years working experience at similar level gained in a busy Credit role in a Bank
* Supervisory experience a compulsory
* Must have knowledge in core computer system usage in credit
* MBA holders are preferred

The purpose of this role will be to periodically inspect equipment, and carry out planned preventive maintenance in compliance with OSH Act 2007 requirements and regulatory electrical standards.

* Develop and implement a cost effective maintenance programme for all electrical installations and equipment and monitor maintenance against standards.
* Understand plant layouts and where critical electrical equipment and installations are situated.
* Carry out daily checks on equipment for unsafe conditions, arrange for repairs as necessary and update the relevant register.
* Test operation of equipment, trace all filling processes, repair where necessary and retest.

* Abide by and follow emergency requirements. Install, maintain and repair industrial electrical and electronic equipment.
