Safaricom Kenya: Core Access Planning Engineer

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Core Network Planning and Support Department within the Technical Division.

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Core Access Planning Engineer
Ref:
TECHNICAL_CAPE_SEPTEMBER 2010

Reporting to the Senior Manager; Core Network Planning, the holder of the position will collect planning data, analyze traffic trends for nodes and regularly update the core access planning database.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform occupancy results analysis on daily, weekly and monthly basis;
  • Advice on need for any upgrades of configuration changes based the observed trends;
  • Follow the issuance of work orders and their implementation;
  • Provide general trends on QoS profiles and perform house keeping of core access planning and design data;
  • Provide project status reports and follow through on installation to integration process;

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering with bias towards telecommunications;
  • At least 1 year experience in a telecommunications environment (planning or operations), preferably handling GSM CN activities;
  • A working knowledge of 2G/3G RF Planning plus core network nodes required to ensure best planning methods are utilized when rolling out the RNC/BSC/TRAU nodes;
  • Must be able to work without supervision and meet tight deadlines/schedules;
  • Analytical , problem solving skills;
  • Proactive & self motivated;

Facilities Manager

As a maintenance professional your ability to motivate, lead and develop your team will ensure your objectives around continuous improvement, customer service, review of plant equipment & systems, Health & Safety procedures, environmental policies and maintenance best practice are achieved.

With a relevant trade qualification (eg electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, mechanical) and a minimum of 7 years maintenance experience within a multi-purpose facility environment, you’ll be well placed to understand The Academy. Human Resources Coordinator

1. Human Resource Manager

Reports to: chief executive

Role\purpose:

2. Financial Accountant

Reporting to: Finance Director
Supervising: Senior Accountant-Payables, Senior Accountant-Receivables, Farmers Accountant, Assistant Accountant- Cashier, Accounts Clerk- Office Administrator

Key Responsibilities:
* Managing overall company general ledger ensuring accurate and prompt reconciliations per agreed deadlines.

To increase external communication and manage publicity of a local youth HIV prevention organization and a youth grassroots campaign. Regularly document project activities and successes, liaise with media and market the organization. Excellent writing skills and experience with media are a must.

Events Officer

To help develop, provide support and manage implementation of community events for youth as part of HIV Free Generation, a local organization.

Media Officer

To provide technical guidance and communication support for planning and delivery of youth behavior-change-communication through mass media campaign interventions for the local organization, HIV-Free Generation. Programmatic working experience with youth is required.

Web Designer & ICT Officer

Looking for a young designer with experience in graphic design and website hosting, as well as innovative communication technologies. This person will be responsible for maintaining content and design of a hip, attractive youth website with regular updates, as well as promoting this website.

Trocaire Kenya: Regional Finance Manager

Finance, audit and procurement:
  • Closely monitor all financial activities in HEARO and keep management advised of all situations which have the potential for a negative impact on internal controls or financial performance.
  • Ensure that financial policies & procedures are compliant with institutional funding requirements.
  • Establish finance and supporting function policies, systems & procedures and ensure implementation.
  • Assist with preparation and production of regional and country programme and administration budgets.
  • Produce a quarterly administration financial analysis report and relevant tracking reports.
  • Ensure reporting requirements as set out by head office are adhered to
  • Provide management and programme staff with regular and accurate updates on budgets and expenditure
  • Maintain current knowledge of government requirements related to financial matters and ensure compliance with tax regulations and other legal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational standards in the use of the Agresso Business World accounting system, and train and support staff in its implementation and ongoing use.
  • Develop, schedule and coordinate the completion of external audits and initiate actions necessary to correct internal control weaknesses.

Partner related duties:

  • Work closely with partners to improve / enhance their accountability and internal control procedures through training and accompaniment.
  • Assist programme staff to analyse budgets and financial reports submitted by TrĂ³caire partners

Qualifications and Attributes required;

  • Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) and Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of finance in a non-profit or international commercial organisation.
  • Experience of computerized accounting systems, standard spreadsheets and database programs.
  • Knowledge of fund accounting, procurement and financial management of donor funded projects.
  • Flexibility, problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure and good communication skills
