Job Title: Community Liaison Officer (2 Positions):
A Bachelors Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, SWASA, Adult and Community Education obtained from a reputable University. Candidate need to have a minimum of 2 years’ of hands on experience in the fi eld of Human Rights Promotion and Community
Development. Knowledge of N’gakarimojong is desirable.
Candidate should also possess proven knowledge in confl ict resolution and transformation, Human Rights and Family Law

Job Title: Land Rights Desk Officer (1 Position):
A Bachelors Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, and a Diploma in Law obtained from a reputable University. Candidate need to have a minimum of 2 years’ of hands on experience in the fi eld of Human Rights Promotion and Community Development.

Knowledge of N’gakarimojong is desirable. Candidate should also possess proven knowledge in conflict resolution and transformation, Human Rights and Family Law.

Job Title: Legal Officer (1 position):
A Bachelors Degree in Law (LLB) with a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Center, with a practicing Certifi cate. Knowledge of N’gakarimojong Language will be an added advantage.
At least 1-2 years of working experience in advocacy and defending of Human Rights activities will be an advantage.

Job Title: Office Manager (2 Position):
A least a Diploma in Business Studies (UDBS) obtained from a reputable institutions with a minimum of 2 months of hands on experience in the field of office management and Administration.
Knowledge of N’gakaramojong is desirable.
Candidates should also possess basic computer skills.

Job Title: Accounts Assistant (1 Position):
A minimum of a Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration obtained from a reputable Institution/ university with a minimum of 1 year of hands on experience in the field of Financial Management. Knowledge of N’gakaramojong is desirable. Knowledge of Financial packages such as Sage will be an advantage

Job Title: Geographical Information Systems Officer (1 Position):
A minimum of a Diploma in Physical Planning, Urban
Planning, Land Economics or surveying is required.
Knowledge on the Nkaramojong Language will be an added advantage. At least 1-2 years of working experience in Community Mapping, physical planning and knowledge of using GIS, GPRS technology

Job Title: Driver (1 Position): A minimum of a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with a Credit in English Language is required. A successful applicant should have 5 years of driving experience with a Valid Driving Permit of class B, DL is a Must. Knowledge of N’gakarimojong Language will be an added advantage

Ipas: Health Systems Advisor & Research Monitoring and Evaluation Associate

Founded in 1973, Ipas is a global non - governmental organization dedicated to ending preventable deaths and disabilities from unsafe abortion.

Ipas has a number of vacant positions to be based in Nairobi but working regionally in a number of countries in Africa:

Position: Health Systems Advisor

Full-time, high level technical position

Under the supervision of the program director, and working with the regional support teams, the health systems advisor will be accountable for providing technical expertise in developing training curricula and tools for clinical training in reproductive health; designing and delivering clinical training and mentorship, assessing and overseeing improvement of health facilities, and managing partnerships for the improvement of reproductive health services.

Requirements: A medical degree with advanced training and experience in obstetrics and gynecology, reproductive health, or public health; 4+ years relevant experience in health systems strengthening – training, mentoring, supervision, quality assurance and program management.

Position: Research Monitoring and Evaluation Associate

Full-time, high level technical position

Under the supervision of the program director, and working with the regional support teams, research, monitoring and evaluation associate will design and conduct research, monitoring and evaluation for programmatic and policy activities, support analysis and use of data for decision making, and disseminate program and research results.

Specific duties will include technical and managerial oversight for the implementation of M&E systems, including data collection, management and documentation; ensuring results reporting in consistency with Ipas global standards for M&E; facilitation of routine review and use of M&E findings for program assessment and modifications; and contribution to documentation for reports to donors and other stakeholders

Requirements: A PhD or masters’ degree with 5 years’ experience in conducting monitoring, evaluation and research in reproductive health programs.

Strong skills in quantitative and qualitative research techniques, including demonstrated ability in the development and use of study instruments, and analysis and presentation of data.

Demonstrated ability in the use of one or more statistical computer packages (Epi Info, STATA, SPSS, SAS).

1. Corporate Services Officer

Core Functions:

* Manages the communications and public relations functions of the institute
* Development and implementation of marketing strategies

* Liaison with key stakeholders and partners
* Support to revenue generation and/or fundraising initiatives
* Performs tasks related to above core functions as required

Qualifications and Experience:

* Minimum of a degree in Communications or Marketing or the in social sciences

2. Chief Trainer

Core Functions:

* Development of training concepts and programs
* Coordinate delivery of certification programs running at the Institute

* Managing and participating in delivery of consultancies and training programs

Qualifications and Experience:

* Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in education or business related field
* Final Diploma in procurement and supply management;
* A registered member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management
* Minimum 3 years experience in training;
* Experience in design of skills training programs

3. Membership Officer

Core Functions:

* Handling registration of new members and renewals
* Planning and managing membership events
* Handling inquiries related to membership and official correspondences
* Growing membership
* Acting as assistant secretary to the registration committee
* Maintaining data on registration and membership activities and providing analysis of such records
* Managing the electronic membership database and website
* Management of membership services – e-magazines, job referrals etc
* Performs tasks related to above core functions as required

Qualifications and Experience:

* Minimum of a Bachelors degree in social sciences
* Professional certificate/diploma in purchasing and supply
* Registered member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management
* Minimum 2 years experience in an administrative/procurement position
* Competency in website-management

Roles and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

* Custody of NSE enterprise databases both on the primary sites as well as the Disaster Recovery site and overseeing operational functions of mission critical systems.
* Developing and implementing security procedures for database applications, considering issues such as employee data access needs and risk of data loss or disclosure.
* Evaluation of user requests for new, modified or updated software application programmes to determine feasibility and compatibility with the Broker back office system;
* Care and maintenance of the broker back office (BBO) system, automated trading system (ATS), ACCPAC financial system and other Database systems across the organisation,
* Oversee the internet trading platform for the BBO including the connectivity of websites to the system, database connectivity, multimedia and searchable content, as well as troubleshooting basic problems.
* Reviewing, testing and evaluating the Database & Related systems existing to determine their effectiveness, reliability and compatibility;
* Coordinating the BBO training and certification programme as well as responding to technical queries on the BBO system

Qualifications and skills:

* A graduate in a relevant discipline, a professional qualification in one of the following CISA, CISM, UNIX and Oracle is an added advantage.
* A minimum of 4 years experience in managing Oracle databases, Unix, Windows Server and working knowledge of MS SQL,
* Advanced and broad IT Knowledge in data and systems security, operating systems, network design and security as well as system auditing.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information and to ensure absolute discretion and sensitivity to confidential matters.
* Strong communication skills – both written and oral and interpersonal skills with excellent team working skills.

Senior Manager-Transmission Planning & Support Ref: TECHNOLOGY_ SMTPS _Aug_ 2011

Reporting to the Head of Department – Core Network Planning & Support, the job holder will be part of the departmental leadership team tasked with the management of Transmission Network Planning & Support Team.

The team is involved in modeling, planning, design, optimization and project management of reliable transport systems /networks in support of timely transmission requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
* Network Capacity Management, which will involve modeling and planning of Transmission systems/network and respective capacity planning and analysis.
* End-to-End Project management of Transmission initiatives from inception of plans, Projects handover to Network Monitoring and management of transmission systems/equipment suppliers.
* Drive prudent financial management within the transmission relm i.e. both planning, utilization and evaluate capital and operating expenditures within business requirements.
* Drive trials & other innovative integrations in respect of transmission models through vendors & suppliers
* Manage a team of highly specialized transmission planners & support engineers. This will involve skills enhancements, coaching & mentoring, and offer technical expertise where required.

Minimum requirements:
* Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Telecommunications
* 6 years experience with 3 years specialized role in a busy telecommunications environment Involved in installations /commissioning and planning of major telecomm projects especially in the transmission field.
* Knowledge in Pathloss design tool will be an added advantage
* Demonstrate the ability to analyze the network transmission elements requirements and provide solution/recommendations
* Project Management training and experience.
